Praise Reports

Monday Ken and I fasted and prayed together but separately as we both had much to do. I felt a burden to pray for my daughter Brit to be safe driving the next morning. She is pregnant, and was driving a small car, my husband and granddaughter Jozee were in the car. An SUV crossed the line on M89 on the ice and was coming right for them. It missed them by inches but hit the van that was tailgating her head on. They did not stop because there was no room with an M DOT plow truck, and 5 other cars coming. We prayed for the people involved in the accident. I am glad the LORD is faithful and protected my loved ones, and prompted me to pray!

Trials

Good news, my mother-in-law Lena, got to go home from the hospital today. The LORD healed her leg, the DR could not find any infection. Upon entrance to the ER her white count was up, and her leg was black green red and swollen from her ankle to her knee. Please pray for my niece Jenny who was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. My daughter Brit is pregnant and has abnormal cells on her cervix. I have to withdraw from my classes because I was sick and also missed classes due to family needs. Jesus has kept my husband and I both alcohol and tobacco free! The LORD has provided financially for us. I know others are going through similar or worse situations. I believe Jesus is a faithful prayer answering God. I have made my request known to HIM.

Snow Daze

Yep, it's -15 with the wind chill factor here in the mitten state. I am hold up with 2 of my lovely daughters and 3 of my wonderful grandchildren! Sigh! Right now we are baking a box carrot cake with pineapple and raisins added. Last week I took Shakespeare our mini-poodle, and Gizmo our cat (see photo) to the vet for check-ups. Total bill $557.82!!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable. There fore I need to get my eBay sales going again. As a person who shops for food at Aldis, and everything else at The Gospel Mission Store, Salvation Army, and Goodwill, the fee was baaaaad news. I haven't spent that on dental bills for last year. It is important to keep them healthy because I love them, but also with an 8 month old baby in the house it's imperative. I'll be posting eBay items pronto.
To further save cash, I looked up some home remedies for skin and hair. My long hair is 4 inches over due for highlights, which I am not going to get. Since I need to look more professional for Subbing, and possibly another part time job, I had to do something. Home remedy #1 consisted of a paste of baking soda and peroxide for my face and neck. First I washed with a buff puff and Dove soap, after rinsing well, I applied the paste. Wow!!!!! My skin feels so clean! It shrinks and cleans pores very well. Next, I brewed my own hair color. Since I also have gray hair coming in, I chose this recipe to help blend the three colors together. I boiled sage, rosemary, and some black coffee together. I let it cool and sit over night. Then I strained it, and filled the kitchen sink with a little water and poured in my magic concoction. Then I leaned over the sink and dunked my head in. Using a measuring cup, I ladled it over the back and sides of my hair. Finally, I slathered on Suave conditioner. Also, I have a curly bun hairpiece which I colored at the same time, same way.
My teeth are in sad shape needing to be whitened. I am a huge coffee drinker. I had my teeth professionally whitened by my dentist 5 years ago but my teeth became painfully sensitive. Personally I think teeth can really age a person, and cause a very unprofessional appearance. I am brushing them with the same baking soda peroxide mixture I used on my skin and it is working very nicely.
Internet suggestion: (Take some foil and fold it to form to your teeth. Take a little toothpaste and baking soda and mix together really well. Put some of the mixture into the foil and place on your teeth. Leave on for one hour everyday. Brush teeth normally afterwards. You will notice whiter teeth in just a few days.) I am going to try this next.
If any one has any great home remedies they would like to share I would sure appreciate it!
Thanks,
Cheri

Christian Education

Does any one out there dream anymore? Literally dream? Well I do. The dream that awakened me this morning has caused me to realize the importance of Christian Education. God commanded Israel to teach their children about him all the time. I can do no less. As a Sunday School teacher I found out many parents leave this vitally important commandment to the church. The world will not hesitate to teach our children. I feel compelled to teach my children and grand children, and hope to become involved in Sunday School again. The Bible says if someone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to lose faith - it would be better for that man if a huge millstone were tied around his neck and he were thrown into the sea Mark 9:42. I want to hear from you, all your ideas to make children want to learn.
God bless you!

Things Successful People (Like You!) Do

Since we have started a new year, I have been thinking about this a lot. I found this on the internet today. I believe it. I am a Bible believing Christian and I know if you put God first you can not possibly go wrong. His Word is my guide. So I would put Him first at the top of the list. Go to this link to view video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xi3lcxjU7CI The eight things are:
1. Focus on goals
2. Positive and Passionate
3. Work hard
4. Never stop innovating
5. Time management
6. Add outrageous value
7. Strong relationship skills
8. Devoted to excellence
